Hero?

Crash! Kapow!
You call yourself a hero?
You don't know the meaning.
I run, your personalised ball-boy,
The Dark Knight and his shadow,
Trailing behind, holding the coats,
Each day the same, never seen
Just a sidekick
...
Now I have grown,
Exchanged that emerald gear,
Black trousers, a polo neck,
No longer need to be seen,
People no longer stare at the man
who followed, the man who tagged along,
Getting into trouble and causing havoc,
I am who I am,
Holy Robin Redbreast! Scream tabloids
Have I said too much? The mask holds
Identity but what if that got lost?
What if the Robin opened it's beak,
the Bat would have nowhere to fly.

Better Than Drugs

Nothing else can compare,
Forever trying to fill the
Empty void inside,
You numb my pain,
Letting me forget my troubles,
You are my addiction,
My one true weakness,
You calm me when the rage explodes,
You turn me into the person I want to be,
I feel your every heartbeat,
I hear your every whisper,
You keep my faith alive,
When fear and pain collide,
You are there to pick up the pieces,
Your presence keeps me alive,
My own personal brand of heroin.

Reflections

A woman sees her picture,
She can't resist a glance,
Passing a shop window,
Would she change,
Given the chance?

Big nose,
Small breasts,
Short arms,
And the rest,

She looks over
She hates what she sees,
A beautiful woman, '
I can't eat what I please!'

Dye can only do so much,
Creams and shampoos,
Sport and diets,
You'll just gain the pounds you
Lose.

Size 14,
Once so huge, now the norm,
Clothes show buldges,
Body far from the perfect form

You stare into a mirror
and what you'd like to see
Is your teenage self
In all her skinny glory,

Yet for those you don't know
Strangers passing by,
Wouldn't stare and think
She's eaten all the pies,

Whilst your lying eyes,
Set out to hurt you,
People will see and think,
I wish I looked like that too.

Hope for the Hopeless

Never a day goes by,
When I don't wish things
Could be different,
That she was out of the
Picture and it was just
You and I.
She is no longer in your life,
But she's everywhere,
A ghost that haunts every
Waking moment, And
She will never leave,
Possessing you 'till
The day you die, Never
Letting go, and in the mean
Time, I am stuck, I
Cannot leave, My devotion
To you is too strong, I
Would break my own heart
By walking away, But you
Are making it crack, You
Are oblivious to the ways
Of my heart, Focused deeply
On the Lost Girl, Never
Moving on, I will never get
My chance, I will forever be
The Rebound Companion.
The Other Girl.

Odd Socks

There is always that one person,
The one who doesn't know when
To stop, There is always a nerd,
The one who goes out of their way
To humilate, There are the evil
Ones, Blonde hair, perfect figures,
False smiles, There are the genuine
Ones, kind, quiet yet hesitant, Me?
The one who doesn't care, the one
Who lets everything glide past her,
Travel back in time, you see a wimp,
A scared animal unleashed into the
Horrors of high school, but take a look
Now? You'll see a simpleton, a girl,
When with her friends, a weirdo,
When with her family, a pest,
But at school? A stranger, even to
Herself. She tries to be funny, and
Sometimes it works, she's no lonely
Kid, but let's say...original. She
Doesn't need anybody, She is
Her own person. Doing things her
Way. It works.

Heartbeat

She turns,
He's there,
She speaks,
He stares,
Her eyes,
His lips,
She stands,
He sits,
She smiles,
He grins,
She walks,
He wins,
They hug,
They kiss,
What love
is this?

Snapshots

Good times that are frozen in time,
Never will they fade,
Memories can be erased but
these are forever.
To remind you of the Good Ol' days,
Strands of hair immaculate,
Colourful, new and fresh,
Creases have not yet appeared on
the skin, eyes still young and naive,
Those teenage spots that are soon
the most important thing to you,
Yet as age begins to grow on you,
they become another small detail
One of those things put to the back
of your mind,
Old age brings stress, pressure and
hard work,
Youngsters biggest worry is what to wear,
red goes with black, but blue matches
white, heels or boots? Hair up or down?
Nightmare.
Dust collects and time passes,
black and white or even sepia,
disorting the image like it's a hundred
years old, the most precious thing in the
world, But to you
it is.

Passport Number

The picture,
a blank, formal take,
Expressing not your smile,
Nor your happiness, But
your dissapointment,
You're hard, stern,
Miserable.

Your number,
you are not a person,
You are a digit in the eyes of the
Gods, noone cares who you
are, what you do, where
you go, do what you
please, they don't turn their
heads.

Your name,
a title that cannot
suggest your character,
People shout it,
but sometimes never know
the person underneath,
The most beautiful
name, the most hideous idiot

Coming from the other
side of the world,
No one cares.

£300 An Hour

People stare,
They know what I'm up to,
A woman cannot be
accepted when dressed
as some would say
Inappropriate.
The street moulds for me,
Sings to my footsteps,
It's like I was born for this,
My head is held high,
as I get disapproving glances,
they think they are subtle,
but I know, can read them
like a book,
That disgusting bitch,
But I smile,
Red heels match my
soft lips,
Some would suggest
Romantic,
But my mind wanders to
Erotic.
Golden hair,
(Guys like that)
I don't get it.
It's just something
they do,
Like girls like muscles,
a clean smile, seductive
eyes,
A black dress, a colour of
mystery, secrets, darkness,
(Guys like that too!)
Make up sometimes gentle,
sometimes full,
Eyes deep and chocolate,
Pleasure, Enjoyment.
Voices used,
Deep and tempting,
Kisses given,
alluring and enticing,
Hooker, Escort
Call me what you like,
I am having the time of my life.

Percy

The classroom.
The most ordinary place,
you could ever hope to
go, yet what could
happen inside, i
s a mystery
no one has figured out.

So, I walk in
Brunette, pink lips
Ears too big,
And he's there,
The new boy,
His hair flops,
Covering his eyes,
Skin perfect,
Not smooth,
Not clear,
Perfect.
His voice deep
Sitting at the back,
Quiet and lonely,
Waiting to be filled
with knowledge or
understanding.

We speak for the first time,
One week later, He
smiles, and relief rushes
through me, He
speaks my name, I
could take to how he says it,
Different and original to everyone else,
We exchange glances and I walk.

We kiss for the first time,
One week later, He
walks me home,
My pals following
close behind, they
laugh, but I just jump.

Ten years later,
We marry,
Rings exchanged,
Vows are said,

People say they hated high school
But me?
I thank mine.
Mine gave me Percy.

The Day the World Ends

My eyes shut, Drifting
into unconciousness, my body
Paralised and dreams begin to start,

I see the Earth's last sunrise, The End
has finally caught on, the sun will
Cease to exist, an infinite object, burning.
The stars we share, the moon that gives us, The
ghostly glow, everything that makes life worth living,
Gone within a blink of an eye, Red's and orange's
painted across the sky, with rushes of
blue,
violet,
lilac: following closely behind.
Explosions like screams, the sky begins to cry
Knowing it's the end, droplets falling on, Innocent
skin, filled with sugars and spices. Forever was
laughable, a perfect image species liked to believe
was true. The skies sadness turns to pure hate, Rocks
begin to fall, the crunching of bones and the concrete
skeletons trapped in time, will never be remembered
or acknowledged, a selfish world we belong in,
infinite death is all that can be hoped for by creatures,
and the dark starts to stalk, Clasping
children's lives, killing the unwanted, feeding on
the happiness that once surrounded them,
The heavens I watched the beating hearts,
Useless, they were.
Laughing at Earth's demise. A smug smirk, Black
eyes,
'They brought it on themselves.'

Sweat rests gently on my skin,
Icy cold to touch yet burning inside,
My breathing heavy and loud,
Their laugh still sour in my ears,
and the image of death still fresh in my
Mind,
One day...
Forever is too perfect...
And the world is not that kind.

Some People Don't Grasp the Concept of Unwelcome

Tears flow
sobs quietly escape,
noses are red
eyes are swollen
your face a mess,
You realise the

pillows are wet,
hair falls in your face,
You cannot think straight,
Sniffles and heartbeats
rubbed eyes and pain,

Knock,
Eyes shut rapidly,
Duvet pulled over,
light turns off
the door opens and closes,
eyes are open,

"Yea, noise? then I'll be brief. O happy dagger!
This is thy sheath;"
Juliet, heroine of my world,
reduces me to tears.

Tick Tock

Twenty years young, Life
barely started, innocent eyes,
Blank expression, not a crease on the skin,
yet I fear for her, Aging
everyday, stuck with man
forever young.

Her smile is genuine, her hand is
Warm yet she continues, creases appear,
illness moves in, death eventually winning,
and I, Fail
to die, fail to give in,

Forced to move on,
forced to forget,
loneliness my only companion,
death taking all whom I care for,
I remain constant whilst she wastes,
trailing behind,
each second closer to death.

Forgotten Belongings

Dust collects, the ravages of time takes effect,
A firm piece of my memory and now you are
Left, As I grow up you stay the same, an innocent,
emotional mess, reunited with friends you thought were lost,
and lost are the ones you thought would last forever.

Smiles and laughs were once sewn into my life,
Now I face a dilemma, do I really need you now?
In my hand you lay, and moisture fills my eyes,
the good times, where have they gone?

Forgotten and sealed in cardboard where you may,
Never be loved again, wasting away until peace takes you,
Mine forever? Frozen in time?
Life is full of memories and you will always have a part in mine.

Stubborn

It's night.
The speed, tyres they screech, A
loud swift motion as his feet leave the ground,
Defying gravity for a moment in time, His
head meets the concrete and his body closely follows,
Lights shine on his lifeless body, screams are heard, By
passers-by, they are usless.
She runs, her life not important, her heart beating as if Running two humans, Feet
pound on the floor, her breathing increases,
she's on her knees, present and in the company of her love,
tears begin to run, Blood begins to pour.
Last glances are exchanged, last words are said,
She cradles him, she knows he won't give up, He
knows she needs him like fish need water, she depends on him
Sirens sing, rain begins to fall, this is the end?
His eyes flutter shut and she shouts at the world, pleading for, Help, a light kiss is given and she never leaves.

Three months on,
Her smile returns, his eyes wide open, hair disarranged,
An embrace, clinging like now is the end.
He is her air, she is the fish and he is her water,
and they know,
it's the start of something beautiful.

Gone but not Forgotten

The mountains would shine,
Echoesof their singing rung through the cities below,
Brilliant blue skies were never doubted, And
the hope of better things was never wished,
this world couldn't get much greater.
Childrens laughs filled the atmosphere
and shining sparks ruined the darkness of the nights sky
Hands were touched and glances were exchanged, Smiles
never faded and tears would never be shed.
Beauty defined the world and the people,
they would dazzle even the most bitter creature,
Love would last forever and could never be ruined.
Routine ruled, yet thats what made this planet brilliant,
how it maintained it's wonder and disbelief.

A child cries, and thats when it stops.

Beauty becomes a thing of the past
Swarms of evil swoop,
Buildings crumble, burn and die,
Screams now echo through the cities,
Tears fall and Love follows closely,
People are lost and hope begins to fade,
Fire grows, scaring, bullying people out of their homes, Blood draining out, leaving men grey, Like
the sky the darkness had consumed, Energy is lost, fighting back is pointless
Smoke starts to fill the atmosphere,
And the planet is ceasing to exist,
Cries of many mothers are heard,
Lifeless children in their arms,
Many wanting to live on, But
the need to give in and perish, conquers,
This once peaceful world will soon become forgotten or unknown,
A decision needs to be made,
Would you jeopardise your world in the hope the other may be destroyed?
Be the killer of your own kind and the killer of your enemy?

The choice is made,
sometimes you cannot escape the inevitable,

Sometimes things have to be done.....

Who's To Blame?

What will the world become?
Natural beauty, fresh air,
you cannot escape the green,
Thick smoke, grey buildings,
a dying planet.
No more blue skies,
rain pours at a constant speed,
showing no mercy no matter who begs for it,
Metal, darkness, concrete, glass,
all of it means misery.
What happened to the sun?
Roses? Nature? Happiness?
The world moans,
we have killed it,
we are killing ourselves,
every second nearing destruction,
the world will soon become
nothingness,
and who'll be responsible?

It doesn't need to be said.

Enchanted

Happily Ever After...

I could be the mermaid lost at sea,
I could be the Alice of your Wonderland,
Villans lined up with swords and spells,
We'd fight them all to the end.

Magic mirrors and haunted homes,
Singing trees and enchanted wands,
Ogres and dragons,
We'll visit them all.

Three wishes and glass slippers
Sisters and dwarfs,
I could be the rabbit of your hat,
I am Wendy if your my Peter.

Once Upon A Time...

Their Thoughts Are Worthless

You just walked away,
Fear.
Didn't look back,
Regret.
So scared of...
well, What?
Me?
Us?

When people ask of me
what is it you say?
Are you embarrassed?
Ashamed?

Thoughts belong to people
and I don't care what they are.
You think it's you and me,
and quite a lot of people
But
it's just me and you.

I want you to realise
that the game is over,
We both want this
But if you can't accept
the change, then the spark will
begin to fade

I can be serious,
Can you?

Not Always What They Seem

What is percieved as
the simplest man,
Could be a man so complex.

The most fit beast in the wild,
so strong, so protected,
could be the most sick.

What is a dull forest,
Can turn quickly
Into; a child's nightmare.

Darkness is friendly,
Until you go out,
And see it for yourself.

What may seem like the coldest winter,
May be a warm day,
to those with smiles.

The wolf's howling,
can scare away,
or invite home.

Why can't things just be simple?

A Lack of Colour

Always unhappy,
Show me a smile,
Can't remember when
I last saw you laugh

Your sad eyes,
Full of doubt
lose sight of your
courage; and the
world makes you small

Your true colours come out,
And shine through,
The best part of you,
without a shadow of doubt.

Harsh Reality

Why is it that when something is right in front of you, you take less notice? A blurred vision of the thing you have, that everyone else can see, but you can't until it's too late. You are aware of how it makes you feel, and when you think back you wonder how you coped without it, but it's not until you lose it that you really start seeing that it's special. You begin to see what the other people were talking about, and see how different you were when you were in possession of it. When you start accepting that you've lost it, that's when the blurred vision suddenly becomes clear and you finally start to realise:
I was in love.
Strange isn't it? How everyone can see it's there, and they are the people who aren't even involved! Strange how things just wash over you, and you feel like you have suddenly woken up and now you have to face the harsh reality of life. How you feel like one half of yourself is missing, and you can never really get it back. Funny, how people could see when you were happy and feel the love between you, but when you are depressed or lonely they don't understand at all.
You find yourself asking the questions, why didn't I cherish what I had, whilst I had it in my grasp? Why does it only become clear now that I should have realised my feelings when I could do something about it?
But then,
That's life...

Black & White

Colour is drained
from our world,
Leaving a hollow, empty shell

Emotion has vanished,
and the best parts of life
have been picked at
and tossed away

It might bring out the best in us
or it could show us the worst,
Each day, an easy path, or
a struggle to remain living

People come together,
but it can tear people apart,
Kisses and smiles,
Blood and tears

Humanity is a strange thing...

Devoted Prince

You used to be just another face
blending into the crowd
but now you are special
you have become unique
the person my mind won't let me forget

the person I was is lost,
and what was then a deluded fool
has now become a devoted prince
still foolish in his own right, for
he is a moron to think this could last

Nevertheless
he cannot let her go
for some things
are worth getting your heart broken for...

Gust

His coat hits his legs from the force of the wind, his eyes are watering and his hair, a mess. The cold has spreads through him and his face freezes.

He looks at her, her lips are turning blue and her eyes are tightly closed, he shrugs off his jacket and hands it to her. She buries herself into it and she smiles. The biggest smile.

He is now beyond freezing, his hands are numb and he has no control over any part of his body. But she is warm.
And isn't that all that matters?

Immortal Guardian

You turn your head
and she’s gone
You blink and
you miss her
You sleep whilst
she guards
When you’re alone
she protects you
Her touch causes
a shiver
Her voice soothes
Her kiss heals
She never leaves
Stays by your side
from birth till death
Innocence surrounds her
Immortality is her gift
You will never be alone
Always there

From beginning to end.
